One car that immediately caught our attention was this stunning 1971 XY GT Falcon. Finished to an exceptional standard, it had undergone a meticulous nut-and-bolt restoration, with every detail painstakingly returned to its original glory. It was a true showstopper and one of the standout vehicles of the day.

If you know Australian muscle cars, you’ll know that the letters “XY” carry legendary status. Mention an XY to almost any Aussie car enthusiast, and they’ll instantly think of one of the most iconic performance cars ever built in Australia. The XY GT Falcon is widely regarded as the pinnacle of Australian muscle, earning its reputation through its dominant Bathurst legacy, powerful performance, and unmistakable presence. More than five decades after it first hit the road, the XY GT remains the benchmark by which Australian muscle cars are measured, making beautifully restored examples like this a genuine privilege to see up close.

From iconic Australian Falcons and European performance models to legendary American muscle, the 2026 All Ford Day brought together an incredible mix of Ford history in one place. Everywhere you looked there was something special—rare classics, meticulously restored originals, and modern performance builds that had enthusiasts stopping in their tracks.

With fuel prices sitting at record highs during the Iranian–American tensions, attendance was understandably lower than in previous years. Around 3,000 enthusiasts made the trip instead of the usual 10,000, but that certainly didn’t dampen the atmosphere. The sunshine was out, conversations flowed effortlessly, and the passion for all things Ford was stronger than ever. It was a fantastic day spent surrounded by great cars, great people, and a community that continues to celebrate the Blue Oval with pride.

As the afternoon drew to a close, anticipation began to build as the event committee gathered everyone together to announce the awards for the best vehicles on display. With so many incredible Fords entered, the competition was fierce, and every winner had earned their place.

Among the entrants were our wonderful clients, Wayne and Jane, with their immaculate S650 Mustang. Modified by East Side Mustang, it was one of the first S650 Mustangs to receive significant modifications in Australia, making it a standout from the moment it arrived. What made it even more special for us was that Wayne and Jane had purchased this very Mustang from Aus Speed Automotive in August 2025, so seeing it showcased at such a prestigious event was incredibly rewarding.

Then came the moment no one expected. Wayne and Jane’s names were called to the stage—not just once, but twice. Their Mustang was first awarded Best Plastic Bumper Ford, an outstanding achievement in itself. Moments later, they were announced as the winners of the coveted Blue Ribbon Award, recognising their Mustang as the overall standout vehicle of the entire show.

The excitement and emotion on their faces said it all. Watching our clients receive the event’s highest honour was a proud moment for everyone at Aus Speed Automotive and the perfect way to cap off our very first All Ford Day. It was a memorable finish to an incredible event, and one we’ll be talking about for years to come.
